Thank you card!

After playing in my craft room creating the card for my son's teacher, I decided to make one for the substitute teacher that had been teaching the class. My son has told me stories about how some of the children have behaved, so I can't imagine it was very easy for her! She needs to know that she is appreciated too!

Inside of card...

I used Bazzill cardstock for the card (A2).  The lined paper is from Sassy Designs "Booked" Digital Paper Pack and trimmed with the Notebook edge punch by Fiskars. All of the other cardstock is scraps from my stash. :) The pencil was cut at 4 1/2" from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I created it on my Gypsy so I could hide the face and add one of those adorable Peachy Keen faces instead! This one came from the Paper Doll Faces Assortment (3/4"). I used a QuicKutz Apples embossing folder to emboss the red cardstock and added some Divine Twine and a button for a little embellishment. My stamped sentiments are from My Creative Time, "My Teacher Rocks" stamp set.

Welcome back!!

My son's teacher has been out with some health issues for a month or more, so we decided to make her a welcome back card. I searched ALL of my stamps and believe it or not, I didn't have one that said, "Welcome Back!" So I had to improvise...

The card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The patterned paper is DCWV Black Board. I believe all of the solids are from Stampin' Up. I used some digital papers to create the notebook lined paper. I found Sassy Designs and she has a ton of digital papers for sale. They have some fabulous color themes and even see templates and borders too. The digital paper pack used on this one was "Booked." I trimmed it with the Fiskars notebook edge punch. The ruler is actually a sticker from a We R Memory Keepers sticker page. The apple was cut from Doodlecharms at 3 1/2". I love the apple on that cartridge, it's my favorite and I use for all school related projects! I used my Pink By Design "Our Teachers" stamp set and the "Small Banners" set for the Welcome Back. Oh and I decided to submit this into the Throwback Thursday challenge over at My Creative Time. The rules were to use the Doodlecharms cartridge and incorporate blue! The prize is Emma's new release of stamps! Enjoy!!

The Cricut Imagine, balsa wood and Mother's Day!

My last Mother's Day card for this year is for my sister! I had seen over at Crafting with Katie that she had used her Imagine to print on balsa wood. I was able to order some from Joann's online since I don't live around one, :( and gave it a whirl. It worked fabulous! I used the Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge (page 24) to print the butterfly layer. I cut the balsa wood at 4x4, so I just made the image fit into that square. Then used Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut and emboss it! The patterned layer is also from the same cartridge. I love how all the colors just go perfect together. My sentiment stamp is from Pink By Design and stamped with Stampin' Up Soft Suede. I also used that same ink around the edges. To finish it off, I used my PaperTrey Ink Dark Chocolate Ribbon, a button and twine! Enjoy!

Better late than never...Mother's Day cards!

Yay! Blogger is working again! So I finally get to post these Mother's Day cards that I made for my own mom and my mother-in-law.  I used the Country Life cartridge (page 60) for the cut. I used the color palette on the Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge to print the solids (except for the purple flower) for the other flowers and pot, and then cut them out with my new E2! That might have been the hard way to do it, but I wanted to use the new machine, so I took the long way! It cuts perfectly! I also cut some images from my Gypsy with it and it worked flawlessly. Provo Craft has released a fantastic machine! The solid cardstock on the card and first layer is Bazzill.  I used the Echo Park Springtime stack for the patterned paper and sentiment. I used My Creative Time's "Mom You Rock" stamp set and stamped it in Stampin' Up Rich Razzelberry. Enjoy!

Anniversary card!

Tried my luck with a Z fold card a while back and this is how it turned out! I would have to search around for the dimensions that I used on the card, because it has been a while, but the patterned paper is My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow set. I also used some twine from Papertrey Ink, and my sentiment is from My Pink Stamper, with the stamped border from Pink By Design. Enjoy!

Submission to win the new Anniversary Edition Cricut Expression 2!

I know this post is a little late, but I was so happy about the way this layout turned out that I just had to share it! Provo Craft had a contest in which you could submit a one page 12x12 layout with a birthday theme for a chance to win a new Anniversary Edition Cricut Expression 2. There were just about 500 entires and I know it must have of been a nightmare to have to choose!

I decided to use my Imagine for my layout. I used the patterns and solid colors of off the Hopscotch cartridge. It is one of my favorites, the patterns can be used with so many different projects! I also used the Birthday Bash cartridge for the adorable little elephant. I used some of the new image stamps from Pink By Design for the banner. Turned out great!

I didn't win one of the machines, and as you already know, I broke down and bought it anyway, but this was my very first layout submission and I was quite pleased with it!

It's Yarrrrgh Birthday!

Sarah over at www.pinkcricut.com is having a birthday tomorrow! She has had some fun games to join in for her "birthday week" celebration, and is having a UStream tomorrow to release some more new stamps! I LOVE the Pink By Design stamps. I use them on everything! She has a ton of sets to choose from and you can use her sentiment stamps no matter what the occasion is. She also has released some background stamps and some new image stamps. Ok...I can't say enough about her stamps! I made her a super cute birthday card and she got it recently, so I can finally post some pics.

I decided to use one of her April releases, "A Pirate's Life" stamp set and my new Cricut Imagine cartridge "Buccaneer." This is a fantastic cartridge! I love the patterns as well as the images. I have two boys, so I've been waiting for more carts like this one! Oh, don't let me forget to mention the Divine Twine, sold by Pink By Design as well! Enjoy!
