You REV me up!

I received a new set of Pink By Design Stamps a while back...I would've posted sooner, but Blogger doesn't seem to be playing nicely lately! Anyway, the set I used here is the Animated Greeting 3 set. I love these ones! You can purchase them at www.pinkbydesignstore.com. Pink By Design has FABULOUS stamps! They are some of the best quality stamps I have! I saw this sentiment, "You REV me up," and had to use it with the new Cricut Lite Beep Beep cartridge that came out recently.

 Recipe for card:

ColorBok cardstock
PaperTrey Ink white cardstock
Cricut Imagine JT cartridge (for patterns and palette colors)
Cricut Lite Beep Beep cartridge (car cut at 4 1/2")
Cricut Essential cartridge (E2 and cut at 2")
Cricut Elegant Edges (for card and base)

The card is actually welded together on my Gypsy and I scored it at 5". So the card is 5"x5". I used the same cut for the layers. Just placed them on my Gypsy mat to where the top wouldn't cut out and, so it has a straight edge. I just made them a little bit smaller than the previous layer. The top patterned layer ended up being 4 1/4" wide.

PaperTrey Ink Twine
Tim Holtz Vitange Photo Distress Ink for edges
Pink By Design "Animate Greetings 3" stamp set
StazOn Ink

Enjoy!

First attempt with my Cricut Cake...

Wow! Blogger is FINALLY working for me again!

I got my Cricut Cake machine a while back and just decided to pull it out to make a cake for Father's Day. It was actually a messy process! And it seemed like it took me forever to roll the gum paste out to the thickness it needed to be to work well in the machine. I used the Wilton gum paste for this first one. I wanted to make the gum paste on www.cricut.com/cake, but come to find out, you cannot purchase Tylose powder here in town. :( The Wilton brand was relatively easy to use, I just didn't think it tasted the best. My kids ate it though! I used it just the white color it comes in and also dyed it blue with the Wilton blue coloring.

I'm not sure if this is as thin as I should have taken the gum paste, but the Cricut Cake had no trouble cutting it! :)

I've also discovered that I don't like to roll out gum paste...maybe that's why I don't work in a bakery...I think I'll just stick to paper for the most part. It's much easier to clean up!

I rolled it out and then froze it for about 8-10 minutes before loading it into the Cricut Cake to cut. Worked perfectly!

And here it is...the finished cake!! (Don't look at my frosting abilities. I cannot frost a cake, even if my life depended on it! Next time, I think I'll use the fondant!)

Who is counting?

I had purchased this PaperTrey Ink "Birthday Bash Sentiments" stamp set a while back, and just never got around to using it! When I found a super cute card on the Crafting With Katie blog I wanted to try and make the card using my Imagine and a cute little owl from the Imagine More cartridge.

But then my Imagine decided to stop working. After sending it in for replacement and receiving a USED Imagine back, I called up Provo Craft, and politely informed them that I had purchased a new machine from the very beginning and would be happy to send this "used" one back for a brand new one in return. They required pictures of all the scratches all over the machine and the tore up cartridge case. And within a day, I had received another return label and had shipped it off again. Finally I received a new machine (that had been opened already). Provo Craft said that they open and update the machines BEFORE they send them out now because there were so many problems with them. Strange, how they had just updated it two days prior...but it still required an update from me too. Hmmm. But the customer service was super fast and helpful, I have a new machine that works fantastic. And even the calibration is better than my original machine! I guess I shouldn't complain!

Anyway, so I had to use my CE2 to make this birthday card for my little sister. What am I saying, I HAD to use the E2? I decided to use it. It is just one more fantastic machine from Provo Craft!

A little birdie told me...

A little birdie told me...I was a little late getting a birthday card to someone! Oops!

First card with my replacement Imagine machine!

I used the Cricut Imagine More Cartridge for this card. It's my favorite card design on the cartridge (page 18)! I cut it so the card was 5"x5".  I decided that I didn't want the indies of the card to be plain white, and since I wasn't using double sided cardstock, I decided to print the layers of the sides again, to cover it up. I used one of the patterns on the same cartridge for the note paper in the middle. The front layer is on page 6 of this cartridge and I cut it at 3 1/2". The bird was on page 9 and cut at 2 1/2". For the outside sentiments on the card, I used My Pink Stamper's "Tweetie Hoo Puns" stamp set. The inside was stamped with the PaperTrey Ink "Signature Greetings" stamp set.

Enjoy!!
