A tragic story and some sympathy cards.

If you're looking for my giveaway post click HERE!

During the last week of November, my step-daughter and her family traveled to Montana to attend her brother-in-law's wedding. On the way back home from the wedding, the new bride became sick. The day after she returned home, she was admitted into the hospital due to a stroke.  Unfortunately, she wasn't able to recover from it. She was 20 years old and had been married for five days. I can't even imagine what her young husband must be going through, and there are no words that I can even think of to say to him.

I was able to make some sympathy cards and wanted to share them.

For this card I used Kraft cardstock for the base and My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Hatti Papers for my patterned paper. I also used some Vintage Cream PaperTrey Ink cardstock. I created the rosette by cutting four strips of the patterned paper that were 1 1/2" x 6". The center of the rosette and the sentiment tag were created with the My Creative Time "Build a Banner" set, which you can purchase HERE. I used some PaperTrey Ink twine to attach the sentiment and then some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges. The sentiment is from the My Creative Time "Many Greetings" stamp set.

For this card, I used PaperTrey Ink Smokey Shadow cardstock for the base, some Vintage Cream cardstock and the same My Mind's Eye Hatti papers for the patterned paper. I used the My Creative Time Curly Label die for the sentiment. The sentiment is also from the My Creative Time "Many Greetings" stamp set. I used some Charcoal twine from the Twinery to attach the sentiment to the card and inked around the edges with some Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink.
