MIA and some new carts!

I've been "missing in action" this whole week! Think I'm going through crafting withdrawals, since I haven't made it down to The Cricut Corner at all this past week and weekend. I was going to make some cards for a few challenges, but I had a birthday party and quick trip out of town to take care of. Got to see my newest nephew Braxton and also Nathan, so I guess that makes up for it! :) I was able to get to Joann's...and guess what I was able to pick up!!

Looking forward to creating some projects with my both Baby Steps and Kate's ABCs. Can't wait to get started! Unfortunately, it's already Sunday night and that means work tomorrow.

Birthday Card and Invites!

One of my babies will be 11 years old on Saturday! I have no idea where the time went either! :) He is really into basketball this year, so figured I'd start there with his invites and card!

Here is the birthday card I made for him. The inside sentiment says, "Smile, It's your birthday!"

And these are the invites! He doesn't want too many kids to come over (which makes it nice on us!) so I only made up 10 of them. I did see this type of idea on a blog somewhere, I just have no idea where. Sorry! :)

Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Invites are 4" x 4"
Plain white textured cardstock
Plain black non-textured cardstock

Peachy Keen Stamps Let's Face it Friday - Altered Card Storage

The Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog is hosting a new Let's Face it Friday Challenge. This weeks challenge is to create an altered container using Peachy Keen Stamps faces to store Valentines or cards you receive throughout the year.

The Design must be new
The Project must include Peachy Keen Faces

I decided to create an altered Birthday Card storage box! I am always making Birthday Cards and I need somewhere to put them. Actually, after I finished this project, I decided that I needed to make more of these for all my cards!

I used an old fruit snack box and covered it with Sassafras paper from the 'Count Me In' paper pack. I believe this yellow paper was called Multiply. I used some Bazzill cardstock scraps for the outline frames, and scraps from the DCWV Celebrations paper stack on the front of the storage. I was able to use my new SEW Easy for the stitching on the dot cardstock. The thread was Cantaloupe. I'm actually quite impressed with the SEW Easy! It was super simple to use and didn't take long it all! (I did purchase some of the thread with it, to see if it was comparable to thread I already owned, and it is somewhat thicker. But I think that any thicker type thread will work just fine.) I used the Smiley Cards cartridge for the two presents and the Hooray. And of course, Peachy Keen Face Stamps for the cute faces! This set is Happy Lashes (1 3/8" and 1") and I colored them in with some Copics. I added some stitching to the presents and my iRock, to add a couple gems! Enjoy!!

Made by Momo Tuesday Challenge!

Momo over at Made By Momo is hosting another Tuesday Challenge. The challenge this week is to make something with the colors Black, White and Hot Pink! BUT, there is a catch...it must have at least one heart! I needed to make a simple Valentine, so figured this would be a great challenge for it!

This is an A2 size card. I used as Hot Pink cardstock as I could find! These two colors were in the DCWV Brights Paper stack. I cut the shadow and the heart out from the Sweethearts Cartridge on page 72. I embossed the pink heart with the Sizzix heart folder and then sanded it down to the white core just a little bit. The ribbon is from Michael's. The stamp is from My Creative Time, the "You had me at Chocolate" set! Enjoy!!

Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #4 - Nifty Fifties!

Paula over at More Than Favors has another Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge this week using the cartridge Nifty Fifties!

Nifty Fifties is a great cartridge! There were so many designs, that I had a hard time deciding which one I should use! I finally went with this cute little (bird) chick on page 67. The card is 5.5" x 5.5" and the cardstock is S.E.I. Such a Boy. The stamp is from the Pink By Design "Rock On" stamp set. Enjoy!!
