Jaded Blossom :: Happy Birthday!

It's Friday!! And I've got a super cute project to share with you!

I've been on a roll making quite a few birthday cards lately but you can never have too many of them on hand. :) And I tried a new technique that I learned over on Kristina Werner's blog. If you haven't yet, you've got to check out her blog. She has some fabulous ideas and techniques, and video tutorials to go along with them. And her Copic coloring is awesome! The technique that I used today can be found here.

Of course, there are some Jaded Blossom stamps that are perfect for this too!
To start out, I created a standard A2 sized card out of white cardstock. Then I took some Spellbinders Dies and cut a circle out of the front of the card base. I lined up the circle on the back of the card base and stamped my little monster from the Monster Mash set directly onto the card.

I took some PaperTrey Ink Clear cardstock and cut it down to 4 x 5.25 inches to fit inside the card. I lined it up where I wanted it and held it down with some washi tape. I stamped the little monster again directly onto the clear cardstock with StazOn ink. I adhered the clear cardstock to the top of the card base and covered it up with some patterned paper. This just basically hides the adhesive.
It's somewhat like a clear overlay to the stamp. I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Picture This stamp set and some enamel dots to the front of the card base. To create the frame around my circle, I just took the circle die and the next largest die in the set, lined them up, and cut them with my Cuttlebug.
When you open the card, there is the full stamped and colored image! I colored the monster with Copics and then added a couple more stamps to the inside.
Isn't this little monster adorable?!

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons :: Hope you're feeling chipper soon!

YAY for Wednesdays and YAY for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons design team days!

For my card today, I used the new Forest Critters set. These little guys are sooo stinkin' cute! And wouldn't you know, that Jaded Blossom JUST came out with the Forest Friends stamp set...PERFECT for these guys! I decided to go with this little beaver for today's project. Just look at him, I think he's gotta be the cutest beaver I've ever seen. :)
I created a shaped card (standard A2 size) for my card base and added a simple rounded rectangle for an additional layer. I cut a piece of Balsa Wood to fit my sentiment and inked around the edges to make it look a little more forest-y. :)
Some hemp twine and sequins added the perfect final touch.

Lawn Fawn Into the Woods 6x6 paper stack

Digi My World :: Happy Holidays

Welcome to release week over at Digi My World and the first sneaky peek of the new releases!

Today I'm sharing Emily of the Santa's Helpers files.
And...if you don't think this is the sweetest little image EVER...there will be three more helpers available! You can find them here on Friday.
To print out my digital files I import the PNG file into my Silhouette software. Once I have it in there, I create the base of my card, sometimes it is just a regular rectangle (standard A2 4.250 x 5.50 inches) base. Other times I create a shaped card or use some card bases from SVG Cutting Files

Once that is the correct size, I size down my digital image to fit on the card. With that complete then I use the Trace feature to trace the image and create a cut line. I like to have a white border around my images, and in order to do this, you use the offset feature to create a shadow.

I always print out my images onto X-Press It Blending Card with my Epson Printer. LOVE that with this printer and ink, I don't even have to wait for anything to dry. As soon as it's printed I can start coloring and there is no smearing of the printer ink at all. :)
I colored the image in with Copics and the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen for the white parts. Then I added some pearls around her neck.
Supplies:
PaperTrey Ink White cardstock
DoodleBug Designs Home for the Holidays 6x6 paper stack
X-Press It Blending Card
Digi My World Santa's Helpers
Jaded Blossom Christmas Wishes
Stampin' Up Pearls
Enamel Dots
Wink of Stella Glitter Pen
Copics

And don't forget to join us on Facebook for our release event!

Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday! I've got a quick project to share today, a birthday card! And it was super easy to put together, since it only required some stamping, the use of my Cuttlebug, and a paper trimmer.

I used the My Creative Time Hexy Background and stamped it onto some Whisper White cardstock with Versamark Ink and embossed it with some Stampin' Up Clear embossing powder. Then I used the My Creative Time Stitched Hexy Dies and cut them out of some different patterned paper, and adhered them to the embossed image.
I used the My Creative Time Chocolate Greetings for the sentiment and little banner.
And for the final touch, I added some PaperTrey Ink Twine and a few enamel dots.
Supplies:
PaperTrey Ink Kraft cardstock
Stampin' Up Whisper White cardstock
My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Honey 6x6 paper stack
My Creative Time Hexy Background

And now, onto my project!
I used the files for Lucy and Ricky to create this super cute anniversary card. The base was created in Silhouette Studio with a simple background shape. I used the offset feature to create the next layer as well as the rounded rectangle tool for the additional layers.
The sentiment on my card is a famous quote by none other than LUCY herself! It reads, "Ever since we said 'I do,' there have been so many things that we don't." :) I used Silhouette Studio to print the phrase onto some paper from the Echo Park For the Record 2 paper stack and then cut the shape out with my Silhouette Cameo.
And oh my goodness, look at these little guys! They are sooo cute!
